Wine Tasting in Piedmont
Piedmont in Northern Italy wants you to come and visit it. It doesn’t feel complete without you! Its yearly supply of what’s arguably the best Italian red wine (Barolo) is drying up because you’re not there to drink it, to enjoy it, to swish it round your palate with the delicacy of a lion holding its cub.
Piedmont is tired - tired of sending out its bottles of stylish Barbaresco from across the seas to your doorstep. Instead, this wine region that nestles at the foot of a mountain wants you to jump on a plane and come visit it - sink your bare feet into the soil of its vineyards, marvel at its age-old wine cellars and sample its wines as if it’s the first time you’ve ever tasted wine, as if it’s the last time you ever will.
When you arrive, feel free to pay homage to the Nebbiolo grape which is responsible for producing the sumptuous magic contained within its Barbaresco and Barolo wines.
There are other wines in the Piedmont area that can’t wait to meet you – the richly-flavoured Barbera and the dry light-bodied Dolcetto.
Piedmont is a multi-talented region. Not only is it home to some of the world’s best wines, but it’s also home to the infamous white truffle as well as exceptional chocolatiers.
Imagine looking out onto breathtaking natural scenery, enjoying the fresh air, space as far as your eyes can see, relaxing with a fine bottle of Barbaresco wine with some delectable Gianduiotto chocolate (made from hazelnuts and cocoa).
Aaah. The beauty that is Piedmont.
When it’s time for you to go, and you feel ever so reluctant to step back on that plane, it’s ok – you can always come back next year – and Piedmont will welcome you back into her arms, ready to dance with you again.
