Liguria Wines
Liguria is located in the Northwest part of the country. It is a rocky place almost at the bottom of the mountain range. So there is scarcity of plain land and it is chilled more than the usual required temperature of the grape harvesting. Despite of this fact and scarcity of land some grapes are produced here, a class in itself and so as wine. The wine produced from this place is somehow exclusive in taste and quality though the number of produced quality is less than other productive zone like Tuscany or Umbria regions. Cinqueterra is a white wine produced from the coast of La Spezia. Colli di Luni is another DOC wine zone. Red and White wine of this area is mostly known world wide.
Apart from Cinqueterre, Vermentino and Riviera Levante are also good qualities of white wine the grapes of which are produced at southwest coastline of Genoa are highly appreciated by the wine lovers for its exclusive taste and quality. Ponente coast is the main commercial wine producing zone of the region of Liguria. Produced from this area is the red wine Rossese di Dolceacqua that is globally famous for its soft, fruity taste and fruity aroma. Pigoto is another white wine quite famous for its taste. Another good quality of white wine produced from this region is Riviera Ligure di Ponente that is famous in its own class. Buzzeo, Granaccia, Coronata and Lumassin are unique and popular and quite reputed in its own category. The Northeast Italian zone possess a better technological approach to the process of winemaking than the other part of the country, and the major customers for this area are the Germany, Switzerland, and France, as convenient from its geographical position. These are mostly of the DOC (Denominazione Di Origine Controllata) quality of wines and Italy earns a lot of foreign revenue out of the export of these wines.
