Valle d'Aosta Wines
Valle d'Aosta is one of the smallest region of Italy located at the northwest zone. This region is almost made of rocky stone so hardy spaces are found to harvest for the orchard and vine yards. Still the grapes produced from this place produces wine in its own class that is favored by the wine lovers of all over the world. There are almost 15 qualities of wine available in this region half of the names are of French origin. This region is very much near to France hence it is greatly influenced by French culture. The second official language of this region is French.The wines of these places are all of DOC category and in this category of red wines Donnez, and Enfer d' Arviu. In the category of white wine Morgex and La Selle are the main brands. Vineyards of these white wines are located in the bottom of the highest peak of Europe, Monte Blanc. The climate of this place is not of typical Mediterranean type, rather chilled in winter and warm on summer. But most probably this variation of climate has created the unique grapes typical and inimitable in nature.
Grape varieties include Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Moscato, which are quality wise comparable to the famous French grapes like Pinoto, Gamay. The most captivating wines of Aosta Valley are Petit Rouge of Enter d'Arvier, Torette, The Blanc de Voldigne of Morgex, La Selle. Red wine of Nus and Melvoisie make excellent dessert white quality of wine. Theses wines have a natural taste of cream type and containing a typical oaky flavor.
